**CANCELLED** Exploratory data analysis in R
Learn how to apply exploratory data analysis models in R!
26.03.2019 kl. 12.30 - 27.03.2019 kl. 15.30
**This workshop has unfortunately been cancelled. If you are interested in attending the workshop at another time, then please request it by filling out this formula.**
Building on a basic knowledge of R and statistics, this workshop series teaches you how to do exploratory data analysis in R: from summary statistics, exploratory models to visualization.
The purpose of exploratory data analysis (EDA) is to apply an inductive approach to data and gain insights from data without a pre-defined hypothesis.
In this workshop, you will learn a broad variety of tools and techniques to create and communicate insights from data. We will cover best practices in data visualization and summarization, how to create first interactive data visualizations, and how to leverage unsupervised machine learning techniques to generate insights from data.
Day 1: Data manipulation, summarization, and visualization.
- Refresher in data manipulation (joins, aggregations etc.)
- Tools for data summarization
- The grammar of graphics, and data visualization with ggplot.
- Data communication with markdown & plotly.
Day 2: Unsupervised machine learning
- Introduction to machine learning generally
- Dimensionality reduction techniques
- Clustering techniques.
CALDISS – Fibigerstræde 5, room 37 – 9220 Aalborg Ø
- R basics (see our introduction to R)
